Needless to say, the COVID-19 outbreak is unlike anything we’ve seen in our lifetimes. No one has the answer to when society will go back to normal, but there is comfort to be found in that uncertainty. We’re all in this together, even if we’re isolated from one another.
To help communities and small businesses around the country, today we are launching Tech for America. We are mobilizing our amazing network of more than 4,500 alumni to provide web and software development services for companies on a volunteer basis. We were blown away by the response we received from our call to action! So far, more than 100 volunteers have registered, with more signing up every day, to help companies adapt to and survive the global pandemic.
Businesses in need of assistance are urged to email techforamerica@codingdojo.com.
Projects can include creating or maintaining organizations’ websites, adding functionality to the existing sites, and assisting in other meaningful ways. Once a request is submitted, organizations will be paired with volunteers based on locality, technology proficiency required for a given project, and other factors. If you’d like to become a volunteer for Tech for America, please fill out this form.
We hope Tech for America helps small businesses survive COVID-19 and believe programs like this will help us grow stronger as communities and as a country. If you need help, please do not hesitate to get in touch!
